Staircases can provide the most simple yet compelling photographic subjects. As someone else eloquently put it:
“Lines, patterns, symmetry, and interesting shapes are common compositional elements, and have long been used by photographers to produce intriguing shots, lead the viewer's eye, and give their photos a dynamic feel.
Staircases contain all of these elements in abundance, which makes them surprisingly interesting subjects to photograph.”
The photo above shows my latest addition to this subject. A black and white highkey seemed like an obvious choice during the postproduction in order to capitalize on the green tones of the light pouring through the large window on the left.
