Visions from the Future
The image above is a follow-up on the series of architecture images I took at the Liège-Guillemins railway station. It shows an escalator leading to the train platforms. The image was taken at night, at a time when the station was surprisingly devoid of commuters, a remarkable fact given that this is one of the most important hubs of european railway resp. high speed trains network. Photographing these structures at night reveals a whole new dimension, when the grey concrete walls are lit by the soft lights illuminating the interior passages of the station.
The photo consists of a 3 bracket HDR image, tone mapped in photomatix and post-processed in photoshop along a concept trying to emphasize the station’s futuristic design.
