The Milwaukee’s Art Museum is certainly one of the most modern looking piece of architecture ever conceived by Santiago Calatrava. Its aesthetic pleasing aspect poises on a delicate blend of classic sci-fi from the 60s, a space shuttle prototype, a retro-futuristic ship ready to sail the waters of the lake by which it stands, or even a sketch of some unnamed project abdicated by NASA. With such pedigree, it won’t come as a surprise that it has even been used as a setting for Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” movie.
When standing in front of this building to create this photo, it is impossible to prevent these feelings of modernism to wash upon oneself, to the extent that I tried to capture them with my camera. Whether I succeeded is up to each of view to judge…
As for the photo itself, it stems from 5 brackets, tone mapped in photomatix and finished with photoshop.
