I took the opportunity to capture a set of brackets from Berlin's parliament building at night. The tones of the illuminated stone masonry creates an interesting contrast with the dark blue night sky which I tried to capture with the HDR processing. Although not to be seen from this vantage point, the building itself is crowned by a large glass dome at the very top that offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding cityscape. The main hall of the parliament below can also be seen from inside the dome, and natural light from above radiates down to the parliament floor. During the day, a large sun shield tracks the movement of the sun electronically and blocks direct sunlight.
Post-processing was done in photomatix and finished with photoshop.
